How long have you been writing?
I started writing my first novel Strong, in 2011. I honestly
didn’t start off thinking what I was writing was going to
one day become a novel, since the act was initiated on a
drunken dare. Yet here I am now working on my fourth
and fifth novel today (2023).
How would you describe your writing style?
It’s hard for me to describe my writing style. You would
have to judge for yourself. However, I can tell you that I
have been compared to Rick Riordan for my writing style,
Dean Koontz for my plot twists and ability to foreshadow,
and Stephen King for my imagination. I really hope this is
true because, well, let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to be
compared to those great authors. I will say that I feel that
I have a writing style that isn’t super flowery, atmospheric
or anything that could polarize a readership. ‘It’s simple
and easy to fall into”, one reader said to me.
Why do you write?
I’d like to say that I’ve always wanted to write a book,
since I was a child. Or, that I was inspired by a great
author and read all his/her books. But, if I’m being
honest, I would have to say that my writing is more
therapeutic than the typical response to the question,
“Why do you write?” There are a variety of things that I
have faced/still facing, a few inner conflicts that I’ve
conquered, and love that I have found that got me to
where I am today.
I’ve been silent for a good portion of my childhood and
adult years, up until now. I’ve avoided speaking my mind
because I didn’t want to hurt the feelings of others,
although they’ve found comfort and entertainment
neglecting mine. These moments, I still have dreams,
sometimes nightmares of. Reliving, remedying and in
some cases, worsening the situations in my past. But,
through writing, they no longer haunt me or define me.
This is where the name “Dreams to Paper Publishing”
comes from. I’ve found a way to use them. Apply them to
stories. Scatter them in my novels like seasoning to a
dish. In my stories, you will find bits and pieces of me,
along with some of those life trials and tribulations.

Do you plan to make a series?
My first novel Strong (which is not a horror, yet a mystery
thriller) is the start of a series. I know it has been some
time since I’ve focused on this novel. With so many
things happening in my life, it was hard to do, and I plan
on having this series finished before 2027. There have
been suggestions on continuing writing on some of the
characters I’ve introduced in my recent novels. So that is
in the thought basket.
