MY FIRST BOOK AWARD!
I never set out to write award-winning novels. In fact, entering my books into a literary competition wasn’t even my idea. A friend (krystal Spence) encouraged me to submit them, believing they deserved a chance to be recognized. I entered Premises and The REP with no expectations beyond hoping they would be well received.
When the results were announced, I was genuinely surprised to learn that both novels had won in their respective categories. Premises received the award for Best Horror: Paranormal/Supernatural, while The REP earned Best Horror: Psychological. The recognition was an incredible honor and a humbling reminder that taking a chance—even when you don’t expect the outcome—can lead to unforgettable moments.
Those awards reinforced something I’ve believed throughout my writing journey: tell the stories you’re passionate about, stay true to your voice, and never let fear of the outcome keep you from sharing your work with the world.
